Washington gone wrong.

Hello Readers!

I am Disquieted Youth, and today I will be talking about -- just like everyone is talking about -- the looming debt ceiling decision.

First of all, I want to point out that I don’t feel this is going to even be as big of an issue as it probably will be until next week.  At this point we will be holding our necks at the stock market or preparing for the worst.  If a deal does happen, in my opinion, it won’t be until the actual deadline or on Monday. Gotta love Washington Assholes: The Movie. (Sounds like a porno, which it probably is, how many sex scandals are we up to this year?)

The first plan I want to talk about is the Obama plan the one he personally proposed behind closed doors to John Boehner (Immature background chuckle.) And attempted Clark Kent look alike Eric Cantor. Obama’s plan actually would cut over four trillion and would do the unthinkable raise revenue. Obama’s plan cuts two times more than anything Senator Reid or Speaker Boehner (Immature background chuckle) have proposed in their own separate bills. I believe this is a testament to how much these Republican leaders are willing to give up to stop raising revenue and to not look like cowards for compromising.

What’s even more head scratch worthy is the fact Boehner’s (Immature laugh) plan is actually the least cut proposed out of all three of these. Obviously Revenue isn’t on the table, but what is on the table is what the American people have shouted to not touch for the past year, the extermination of our big 3, in the new deal.

As for Reid, his plan cuts about half of what Obama proposed, but still more than Boehner. The over two trillion dollar cut would take big chunks out of defense, the wars, and the pentagon. With all of these cuts inside of this plan two things isn’t on the table, Revenue taxes, as well as our big 3 social programs. However inside the bill is the notion to form a 12 person committee to deal with this issue in the future, an issue that shouldn’t even exist, since this nation began we have never defaulted on the debt ceiling, we raised it SEVEN times under Bush, and since John F Kennedy we have raised it over 70 times. This is as Mitch Daniel’s referred to it in the year 2000 on meet the press raising the debt ceiling is “House Keeping.”

With the republican house, and a democratic senate, and a president who threatens to veto Boehner’s bill, someone will be considered the “Loser” for compromising in this issue. Both sides will have plenty to lose, but the republicans in particular are already have lost with the people. According to the polls the majority of this country blames the stubborn republicans for this issue to begin with.

They have won one thing however, and that is we are no longer having tax increases on the table. This alone is a win for them, but of course it’s not enough, when will it be enough? When they cut our services? Now I know many of you think it’s harsh to say that, but there has been compromise where we don’t have raised taxes nor do we have deep cuts in programs, but it’s not being supported to with the Republican counterparts.

The part that makes me think, there’s a good number of Tea Party members who simply don’t want to raise the ceiling at all. My question to any readers is simple. Is it feasible to compromise with Republicans, if there are a selected group that believes nothing will happen to this country if the debt ceiling isn’t raised? Furthermore what do you think will happen at the deadline?
